HISTORY
In the 2008 Christmas season, Stage One celebrated “The Gift” through a creative exhibition in 798. The Gift exhibited nine Chinese and International Artists and supported Compassion For Migrant Children. CMC is a local foundation providing educational and community supports and programs for migrant children in China.
Knowing the needs of organizations like this we felt it a great opportunity to build a bridge between the community of 798 and CMC through the arts by inviting galleries and organizations around the area to consider the CMC needs and donate gifts to be wrapped and put on display as a sculptural installation in the gallery. As gifts would come in, the installation would grow and symbolize the growing spirit of charity, as people would give a gift from their heart.
Stage One partnering with the Beijing community gave hundreds of gifts as well as cash donations for CMC children. After the success of the Christmas’ exhibition "The Gift," we have decided to make it an annual event through a Charity bazaar. The heart behind The Gift is to explore the gift inside each one of us as well as the gift of giving.
历史
2008年圣诞节期间，Stage One在798艺术区举办了一个名为“礼物”的创意展。展出了共9位中国和国际艺术家的作品并传达了对打工子弟爱心会的支持。 CMC是一个为中国的打工子弟儿童提供教育，社区支持和项目的当地的基金会。
在了解像这样的组织的需要后，我们认为这是一个很好的机会在798艺术区和打工子弟爱心会之间通过邀请周边的画廊和组织来关心爱心会的需要而建立桥梁。那些需要被包装的捐赠的礼物，放在画廊里像一个雕塑装置的艺术品进行展览。随着礼品的不断增多，装置的增大就像慈善精神的发扬光大，人们给予的礼物是发自他们的内心的。
Stage One与北京社区的合作已经为打工子弟爱心会捐赠了许多的礼物，同时也包括爱心捐款。在成功举行“礼品” 圣诞展览后，我们决定通过慈善义卖的方式每年举办一次。我们现在正处于“礼物”圣诞义卖的Stage one。“礼物”活动的真谛既是寻找我们每个人内心的礼物，也是寻找生活赐予我们的礼物吧。
