Entertainment all day!

This years Gift Charity Bazaar will once again feature a multicultural blend of performing artists throughout the day to help get everyone inthe Christmas spirit. Pop/Rock/Folk bands with a North American base, led by artists such as Jen Woodruff, Mike Banker, and Chris Gaertner will offer a mix of Christmas tunes and original music. The choir from the hosting Canadian International School of Beijing will welcome everyone with their vocal arrangements.

Get ready for some great fun in learning from our Filipino friends the “Tinikling” dance, which features the use of sticks. One of last year’s big hits was the ensemble of traditional Chinese instrumentalists from the China Conservatory, who is again sending a contingent this year.

We will once again feature a baby grand piano settled among the vendors with pianists such as Josh Ong setting the festive atmosphere as our guests go about their shopping! Even a couple of our NGOs will be featuring their own performances: Bethel, an NGO providing a home for blind Chinese children will feature their choir, and Epic Arts, a who empowers handicapped people to excel in the arts, will offer a musicalperformance. Get ready to celebrate with us!

More- The Gift Writeups

Thanks to Ex-Pat package — for sending this out to the reader base in thier latest newsletter just in time for this weekends event… We really have appreciated all the media support this year for The Gift. Good Will and Cheer back at you this Christmas season Ya’ll.

Your mom left you a voicemail. She said she doesn’t want any more chopsticks or silk placemats this Christmas. Then, your brother emailed and said no more “North Face” jackets. And your sister messaged you saying that she has enough miniature Terracotta Warriors. Since the allure of “Chinese-y” gifts have worn off on your family, we’d like to help. Introducing “The Gift” charity bazaar at the Canadian International School this Sunday. Aptly described as “Not a Silk Market Shopping Experience”, The Gift is a one-day event offering unique and creative gifts from Beijing. Among the options will be ceramics from a 798 gallery, artwork from local and international artists, and unique children’s gifts (perfect for your “unique” nieces and nephews). There will be live music and activities as well, all to whip yourself up into a holiday gift-buying frenzy. And once you’ve exhausted yourself from all the stimulation, you can recharge with some Home Plate BBQ, Pete’s Tex-Mex or Punjabi Indian food. Best of all, a portion of proceeds will go to Beijing charities. What a relief it will be to get all of your shopping done so that you can return to focusing on yourself. And avoiding your family.

For those of you who dont know about Expat package check out their website They do a stellar Job of visiting and reviewing all kinds of cool stuff going on in Beijing. Sign up and reap the rewards today.
