Thanks to Ex-Pat package — expatpackage.com for sending this out to the reader base in thier ltest newsletter just int tim for this weekends event… We really have appreciated all the media support this year for The Gift. Good Will and Cheer back at you this Christmas season Ya’ll.
Your mom left you a voicemail. She said she doesn’t want any more chopsticks or silk placemats this Christmas. Then, your brother emailed and said no more “North Face” jackets. And your sister messaged you saying that she has enough miniature Terracotta Warriors. Since the allure of “Chinese-y” gifts have worn off on your family, we’d like to help. Introducing “The Gift” charity bazaar at the Canadian International School this Sunday. Aptly described as “Not a Silk Market Shopping Experience”, The Gift is a one-day event offering unique and creative gifts from Beijing. Among the options will be ceramics from a 798 gallery, artwork from local and international artists, and unique children’s gifts (perfect for your “unique” nieces and nephews). There will be live music and activities as well, all to whip yourself up into a holiday gift-buying frenzy. And once you’ve exhausted yourself from all the stimulation, you can recharge with some Home Plate BBQ, Pete’s Tex-Mex or Punjabi Indian food. Best of all, a portion of proceeds will go to Beijing charities. What a relief it will be to get all of your shopping done so that you can return to focusing on yourself. And avoiding your family.
